Announcements/Sunshine:
- Lauren Castle-Reimer is doing much better! She has made large steps in recovering and things are looking very positive.
- We held the Club Christmas Party on December 14th at the VFW in Mukwonago. We had a small turnout, but had a lot of fun. The potluck dinner was wonderful and we will do this again next year. Thanks to Amber, Evie, and Drew for doing a bunch of the preps.
Waukesha County Snowmobile Association
- WCSA Raffle: Please sell tickets! We have tickets, Bill Stocker can get tickets to you! Remember, we get half of all sales back to the club!
- The WCSA Christmas Party had a great turnout with good food, lots of baskets and raffles. Thanks to Drew Christensen for making the box jointed box, and Evie for putting it all together! Evie did a wood burning snowmobile scene on the box that was very nice!
Fundraising:
- Drag Ads: There are THREE spaces remaining to fill.
- Grag Jablonowski purchased one space – Paid in full.
- Gun Raffle sales are doing well – get your tickets and support the club! 205 of 450 are sold!
Old Business:
- Building Bridges: the two bridges are mostly complete. We will finish up adding screws on the 18th.
- We need to do something for landowner appreciation. We currently have eight landowners on our trails, and we need to recognize them for their generosity.
- We will look at the cost of making signs for the edges of the landowner’s properties to identify and thank them for their contributions.
- The motion was made and carried to purchase $50 gift cards from The Elegant Farmer for the landowners. The decision was made to mail them to the landowners.
- We will look at the cost of making signs for the edges of the landowner’s properties to identify and thank them for their contributions.
- Open Item: excess funds in the club and possibly investing the money during the off season. Perhaps investing in CD’s? (Tabled for later in the season.)
- Drag maintenance day was November 29th at Jim Kilpatrick’s shop. Bill and Will Stocker installed the cylinders donated by Greg Jablonowski, the tires donated by Measure Up Renovations, and repaired the front cylinder mount. The drag is ready for snow!
New Business:
- A motion was made and carried to open up the scholarship criteria to any member and their family that completes any schooling, course, or educational program. This broadens the eligibility for the scholarship to be awarded.
- A discussion about holding a fundraiser to benefit the club. BJ Geszvain says that Culvers will allow you to work the store and get a part of the sales. More information is needed to determine if/when to hold an event.
Trails:
- Brushed and signed Vernon Marsh and the High School.
- The trail is getting cut off right at Chapman Farm Blvd between Aman’s and The Farm Mart due to construction. Currently we are riding the edge of the property, but once this facility is built we may be cut off from Vernon Marsh. We are looking at rerouting through the Farm Mart and entering the Vernon Marsh along the edge of the BP station. This will require coordination with St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, The Farm Mart, The Village of Mukwonago, and the DNR. We will work on this over the summer to see if we can keep this critical section of trail.
Next Meeting: February 13th at Sol De Mexico. Happy Hour 6pm, Meeting 7pm.
Meeting Adjourned: 8:11 PM
50/50 Raffle: A 50/50 raffle was held during the meeting and drawn after the meeting adjourned. A total of $175.00 was raised with $86.00 going to the club and $87.00 going to the winner: BJ Geszvain. BJ then donated the winnings back to the club!!!
