- A second motion was made and carried to fill another remaining spot with Select Fire Weaponry’s logo. The club voted to also cover the cost of the artwork.
-
- Grag Jablonowski purchased one space – Paid in full Need to get the artwork.
- St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church has requested to fill a spot since they are landowners.
- We pulled the map box out of Woody’s, and it had $35 in it. We will restock the two map boxes and find a place to display them.
- Gun Raffle sales are doing well – get your tickets and support the club! 225 of 450 are sold!
Old Business:
- Building Bridges: the two bridges are complete. Need to add mulch to the approaches.
- Bill Stocker plans on staining the bridges in the summer to make them look nice and to help preserve the wood.
- Landowner appreciation. We currently have eight private landowners on our trails.
- OPEN ITEM: making signs for the edges of the landowner’s properties to identify and thank them for their contributions
- OPEN ITEM: Mail the $50 gift cards from The Elegant Farmer to the landowners. Evie Stocker will take care of it.
- OPEN ITEM: excess funds in the club and possibly investing the money during the off season. Perhaps investing in CD’s? (Tabled for later in the season.)
- A discussion about holding a fundraiser to benefit the club. BJ Geszvain says that Culvers will allow you to work the store and get a part of the sales. More information is needed to determine if/when to hold an event.
New Business:
- Bill Stocker will be out of town for the March Meeting but can call in.
- Elections are April Meeting, with Nominations for Officers in March.
- 40 members support 4 Directors. The officers present all stated they would accept nominations for the elections in April. Bill Stocker supports the current roster for reelection with the exception of the recommendation to nominate Greg Jablonowski as Vice President. Greg hasn’t been told this yet…
- Lighting the drag – The drag is in the dark for most of the winter since the sun sets so early. It was suggested that we try to install LED lights with solar charging. This was strongly supported by the members present. Bill Stocker will investigate some options for lighting that are effective, robust, and inexpensive.
Trails:
- The trails were inspected late on 2/12. The trails are ready to go as soon as we get more snow. The snow that fell Wednesday was light and powdery, so it did not provide adequate base for riding. The forecast of 5-8 inches Friday night into Saturday is promising because it is calling for snow with higher moisture content. The intent is to pan the trails on Friday night and evaluate for a Saturday trail opening. ALL DEPENDENT ON RECEIVING ADDITIONAL SNOW!
- The drag is not being used by the county this year; they have moved the John Deere to the Drumlin Trail. The Tucker in Kettle Moraine will be used for our trails.
- The trail is getting cut off right at Chapman Farm Blvd between Aman’s and The Garden Mart due to construction. Currently we are riding the edge of the property, but once this facility is built, we may be cut off from Vernon Marsh. We are looking at rerouting through the Farm Mart and entering the Vernon Marsh along the edge of the BP station. This will require coordination with St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, The Farm Mart, The Village of Mukwonago, and the DNR. We will work on this over the summer to see if we can keep this critical section of trail.
Next Meeting: March 13th at Sol De Mexico. Happy Hour 6pm, Meeting 7pm.
Meeting Adjourned: 7:53 PM
50/50 Raffle: A 50/50 raffle was held during the meeting and drawn after the meeting adjourned. A total of $110.00 was raised with $55.00 going to the club and $55.00 going to the winner: Kendall McCann.
